If you are a nature lover, you’d definitely love the scenic spots in SiChuan. I was amazed at the many breathtaking views of JiuZhaiGou National Park – probably the highlight of your entire journey.
Originally, my trip was planned for Sept 23-28 but got delayed due to storm ‘Usagi’ from the departing country Hong Kong.

What to expect around China?
People
When queuing in public areas, be alert and prepared to stand your ground, or even push defensively because they will shove their way in when there is a chance. They won’t respect your personal space and even rest their hand on your back regardless whether you move uncomfortably. You have to tell them straight up. Some reply rudely that they don’t care. Don’t expect them to understand English either.
Vendors
I think most elderly people give better prices. Generally prices have a 100-300% mark up.
Food
Food is generally tasty, spicy and delicious. Si Chuan is known for spicy foods.
Some places use wooden chopsticks (not the disposable kind) so you have to sterilize them with hot tea. They provide a big bowl to clean your plates, bowls, utensils. Or remember to pack your own set of utensils.
Public Toilets
Expect most toilets outside your hotel to be on the floor. While some are clean enough, you may encounter toilets with faulty doors and wet muddy floors. I would advise bringing bags that you can wear around your body and belt bags because most of them do not have bag hooks.

Wear clothing that’s easy for you to take off and be on squatting position comfortably. Most importantly, the length of your bottom shouldn’t stick the floor when taken off. You can also pull up your pants to your knee before taking your pants off.
Bring tissues, toilet paper, wet towels, liquid soaps/sanitizers with you
