For God
“I didn’t want to be a be a part of her marriage — which I think is wrong,” Aaron told the news channel of his decision to turn away the lesbian couple earlier this year. Meanwhile, wife Melissa echoed those sentiments: “I am who I am … I choose to serve God.”
Thoughts after:
I find it quite remarkable that they are willing to sacrifice their livelihood for their beliefs.
When interviewed, you’d notice that they are still very calm and strong to their faith of claiming to serve God.
It’s nothing new, in history, some were even willing to face death for that belief.
I can’t quite conclude on who’s right or wrong. Maybe there are wrongs on both sides.
Bakery for being too straightforward.
Couple using extreme measures as retaliation
Government giving in to ‘one side’ when there are exemptions in other institutions.
I can only wonder…
If the bakery owners gave a different reason, let’s say overcapacity, the couple would still get their cake somewhere else.
Though what may look like bad business for the bakery, I think this incident only boosted their brand name to the rest who agree to what they stand for.
Is refusing clients something new and taboo for businesses?
Then should businesses be penalized for having ‘exclusive treatment’ to customers who do not qualify? (ex. privileges, income bracket, etc)
Beliefs…
I believe that regardless of any religion, the main practice of it is still real love and respect.
Though I also understand where the owners are coming from about ‘judgement’…
Who really has the right to be right?
If we think that we’re all on the right path.. how much ‘right’ of it shows on what’s happening around?
Are we really all better off now?
